Base introduction

Being a provincial scientific research institution, PV industry technology development base  is an important technological innovation and personnel training base of Haixi photoelectric industry, which is approved by the Fujian Provincial Economic and Information Commission and relies on Fuzhou University. With the strong support of leaders at all levels, the base carries out researches in the field of solar photovoltaics and related applications, and maintains good cooperation relationships with the photovoltaic enterprises inside and outside the province. It also promotes the industrialization of related technologies, building a good research service platform integrating production and research. At the same time, playing a radiating and exemplary role, the base gradually becomes a multi-layer and discipline-cross research center focusing on the research of new-type solar cells, semiconductor materials and devices, photovoltaic application systems and so on, which lays a solid foundation for further development.

Main functions

After years of construction and accumulation, the development base has formed four functional platforms, including the preparation of photovoltaic materials and devices, the characterization of photovoltaic materials and devices, photovoltaic application systems and technical services. The base has the process equipment of magnetron sputtering, electron beam (or vacuum) evaporation, electrochemical deposition, chemical bath, lithography, screen printing and so on for the material growth and device fabrication, and the hardware conditions for preparing various functional materials and devices. Besides, the base has the X-ray diffractometer, atomic force microscope, scanning electron microscope, stylus profiler, electrochemical workstation, solar simulator, UV-VIS spectrophotometer and semiconductor parameter analyzer to meet the characterization of the structure, morphology and photoelectric performance of photovoltaic materials and devices. Meanwhile, the base has been overcoming some vital technologies, such as new-type thin film solar cells with environmental protection, photovoltaic off-grid or grid-connected inverter system control technology, photovoltaic performance monitoring and fault diagnosis, to promote the industrialization of technological achievements.

Projects and outcomes

In the recent five years, we have undertaken more than 10 projects supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, and more than 20 provincial or ministerial level research projects and engineering projects in cooperation with enterprises. We have published more than 200 academic papers indexed by SCI and obtained more than 40 authorized patents.
